Welcome to American Legion Post 440 located at 41 Linden Ave in Newtown, PA. We are actively involved in our community, and committed to veterans from ALL conflicts and their families. Since we've been around for one hundred years, we have collected a huge quantity of resources.

We are over 170 members strong, and of course, we are always seeking new members. If you are a veteran who wants to hang out or chat with your brothers and sisters who were there—or even if you are just interested—please contact us, ask a question, or better yet—come down to one of our meetings.

ALL veterans are welcome. We are still serving our country.

April Events

Saturday, April 4@1730 March Madness Final Four Watch Party. Come out, socialize and bring a guest/potential new member.
Tuesday, April 7@1930 Executive Committee Meeting. All members are welcome to attend. Pizza after the meeting.
Thursday, April 9@1800 Post "Game Night". Come and socialize with fellow members, watch the Flyers game, have a beer, and if you want, play poker, pool or darts. No charge for members. Bring a potential new member if you can.
Friday, April 10 @1100-1300 Veteran's Expo at Northampton Valley Country Club-Post Volunteers Requested.
Wednesday, April 15@1900 Son's of The American Legion Squadron 440 members meeting downstairs.
Tuesday, April 21@1800 (Dinner) Presentation "Scam Avoidance" Upstairs. General Membership Meeting after dinner.
May TBD Spring Post 440 trip to visit the Battleship USS New Jersey.
Monday, May 25 Memorial Day Parade.
Sunday, June 13 Post 440 "Open House" BBQ celebration of Flag Day and USA 250th Birthday. Friends, family & community welcome. POSSIBLE ceremony re-naming Linden Ave to Morell Smith Ave.
Our 2026 Post 440 Membership Renewal Drive has been completed! Our 2026 Post 440 Membership is now 157!
