March 2026 Commander’s Message

Fellow Post 440 members,

Welcome to March and Happy 107th Birthday to the American Legion!

The American Legion celebrates its birthday on March 15. This date marks the founding event in 1919, when members of the American Expeditionary Forces (veterans of World War I) convened in Paris, France, for the first official caucus from March 15–17, 1919, to establish the organization.

Our dinners before our General Membership Meetings has been working well. Thanks to everyone coming out to our meetings. Joe Garvey doesn’t disappoint.

Don’t forget our Post Game Night this month on March12th. Come out and bring potential new members and have a good time. See the list below of other upcoming events and don’t forget to subscribe to the Post calendar and Facebook page so you never miss anything.

Upcoming Activities

03-12-26 6pm Monthly Post “Game Night”. Socialize, watch the Flyers, have a beer and if you want, poker, darts and pool. Post/Squadron members. No charge. Bring potential new members.

03-17-26 General Membership Meeting, Dinner & Guest Speaker - Ron Marks regarding PA WW2 Service members buried in the in the Netherlands (UPSTAIRS)

04-09-26 - 6pm Monthly Post “Game Night”
