February 2026 Commander’s Message

Fellow Post 440 members,

Greetings and welcome to February.

This month brings us to the start of our preparations for the Memorial Day Parade. The Sons of The American Legion (Sons) and the Post are having our first Memorial Day Parade meeting Tuesday Feb 3rd at 5pm downstairs at the Post. If anyone would like to participate and help out, please do. We could use the help.

Our first, monthly “Game Night” went well in January. We ended up getting one new member. Please come out and socialize, bring potential members and if you want to, throw darts or shoot some pool. See below for our next “Game Night” date

As a reminder, you can come into the Post and enjoy our dinner buffet, downstairs, at your leisure any time from 6pm on and continuing after our meeting.

The new format for our General Membership meetings also went well in January. As a reminder, the dinner buffet is set up downstairs starting at 6pm and available up to our meeting time of 730pm then will resume again after our meeting. You do not have to be at the Post at 6pm to eat, come any time that works for you, we will have dinner available and you can eat or not eat as you please. I encourage everyone to come early and enjoy some dinner, adult beverages and conversations with fellow Post members. We also encourage you to bring potential new Post members.

02-12-26 Monthly Post “Game Night” 6pm. Socialize, watch a game, have a beer and if you want, poker, darts and pool. Post/Squadron members. No charge. Bring potential new members.

02-17-25 Post General Membership Dinner (6pm) and Meeting 730pm

TBD spring Post 440 trip to visit Battleship NJ in Camden

06-13-26 Post 440 “Open House” BBQ celebration of flag day and USA 250^th. Friends, Family & community welcome
